SafeSnap ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the SafeSnap personal safety companion tool. SafeSnap does not guarantee any safety outcome and is not a substitute for emergency services.
We collect the following types of information: • Location Data: GPS coordinates when you use SOS alerts, Live Location sharing, or Evidence Vault recording. This data is used solely to support emergency features. • Media: Photos and videos captured through the Evidence Vault and Camera are uploaded to secure cloud storage. • Emergency Contacts: Names, emails, and phone numbers you provide for emergency notifications. • Device Information: Basic device data (browser type, operating system) for app functionality. • Account Information: Your email address and profile details used to authenticate your account.
We use your information exclusively to: • Send emergency alerts (SOS, panic, check-in) to your designated contacts • Upload and store evidence recordings securely in the cloud • Share your location with contacts during an active safety session • Generate incident reports for law enforcement • Provide and improve the SafeSnap service
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data may be shared only in these circumstances: • With your emergency contacts — only when you explicitly trigger an alert • With cloud storage providers (for secure media storage) • With email delivery services (to send alert notifications) • When required by law or to protect the safety of individuals
All data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Evidence recordings are stored in protected cloud storage and can only be deleted with guardian authorization. We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us.
Location access is requested only when you use safety features. We do not track your location in the background without your active use of a safety feature. Location data is transmitted only to your designated emergency contacts during an active session.
